After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Phoenix Country Day, the Cicero Prep Academy Centurions were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They managed a 55-50 win over Hayden. That's another feather in the cap for Cicero Prep Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Micah Thurman was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. Another player making a difference was David Yourkoski, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Cicero Prep Academy's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-10. As for Hayden, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cicero Prep Academy will square off against The Gregory School at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Gregory School will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. As for Hayden, they will head out on the road to challenge Joseph City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Joseph City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 last Monday.
