Pasco is 2-8 against Hudson since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Pasco Pirates will look to defend their home court against the Hudson Cobras at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Friday, Pasco came up short against Clearwater Central Catholic and fell 60-51. While losing is never fun, Pasco can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 355th, while Clearwater Central Catholic is ranked 56th).
Despite the defeat, Pasco had strong showings from Isaac Williams, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals, and Sidney Allen, who scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds. Williams continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was TJ Gebru, who scored 10 points.
Meanwhile, Hudson pushed their score all the way to 58 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were dealt a 85-58 loss at the hands of Fivay. Hudson has not had much luck with Fivay recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Tejacion Chapman, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 17 rebounds. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points.
Their wins bumped Pasco to 2-2 and Clearwater Central Catholic to 3-0.
Keep an eye on the arc in Monday's game: Pasco have been dynamite from deep this season, having only made 32.8% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Hudson struggles in that department as they've only made 35.7% of theirs this season. Given Pasco's sizeable advantage in that area, Hudson will need to find a way to close that gap. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
Pasco beat Hudson 56-44 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Does Pasco have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hudson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
