You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely the Green Mountain Rams's strategy against the Golden Demons on Tuesday. Green Mountain came out on top against Golden by a score of 55-46. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Green Mountain.
Green Mountain found their leader in underclassman Tre Gutierrez, who scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gutierrez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was George Soppe, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Several Demons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Slade Pike, who scored nine points. Alex Erger was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Green Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Golden, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-6 record this season.
Green Mountain will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Wheat Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. Green Mountain knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 18 matchups -- so hopefully Wheat Ridge likes a good challenge. As for Golden, they will be playing at home against Standley Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Standley Lake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Saturday.
