Valley Mission recap October 1, 2013
San Fernando's Alex Gonzalez rumbled for the longest rushing play in Valley Mission this season in his game against Van Nuys last week. Gonzalez scampered for 70 yards on the play and finished with 124 on the day as his team bested the Wolves.
San Fernando extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Van Nuys, 68-22. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Cristian Solano threw for 305 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Solano put up the best numbers in passing as the Tigers beat Brent Shano's team. Solano's favorite target this week was Charles Bell, who caught 5 passes for 157 yards.
San Fernando's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Solano has thrown for 1,522 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, while Jose Camargo has 34 catches for 622 yards. Solano also leads the league in rushing with 495 yards.
A big matchup in Valley Mission this week will be when San Fernando takes on Sylmar. At the moment, the Tigers are in first, while the Spartans are in third.
Canoga Park was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from seventh to fourth in the league. The Hunters beat the Hunters 45-43 earlier in the week.
