Captain Shreve is 10-0 against Parkway since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Captain Shreve Gators will head out on the road to challenge the Parkway Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Captain Shreve is looking to tack on another W to their nine-game streak on the road.
Captain Shreve put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Monday. They breezed by Byrd at home to the tune of 59-27. Given Captain Shreve's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while Byrd is ranked 1168th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ejoshua Mcdonald was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Guinn, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Parkway's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 66-58 to Natchitoches Central. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Captain Shreve has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for Parkway, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.
Captain Shreve was able to grind out a solid victory over Parkway in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 48-39. Will Captain Shreve repeat their success, or does Parkway have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
