Spring Lake strolled past the Trojans with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 45-28. Given Spring Lake's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Trojans are ranked 406th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Fruitport saw an underclassman step up: Izabel Hanson-wilbur scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Spring Lake's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3. As for Fruitport, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
