Monroe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kie'Aundria Acree, who scored 37 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Acree has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ciarra Lunsford, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Columbus lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alyna Gilbert. Despite the final result, she scored eight points along with two steals. Gilbert has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sanaa Hicks, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Monroe has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Columbus, they dropped their record down to 7-13 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

As for Columbus, they will head out on the road to face off against Carver at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
