The Pantego Christian Panthers can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They walked away with a 54-45 victory over Midland Classical Academy. The win was just what Pantego Christian needed coming off of a 83-43 loss in their prior matchup.
Pantego Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Aj Brooks out in front who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Brooks has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamerson Green, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
The win got Pantego Christian back to even at 15-15. As for Midland Classical Academy, their defeat was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-22.
Pantego Christian will take on the Cougars at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Covenant Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Panthers in Texas (the Cougars are ranked 160th, while the Panthers are ranked 723rd). As for Midland Classical Academy, they and the Lions will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Trinity Christian will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
