4A Foothills recap September 17, 2013
Pueblo South scaled the state rankings by moving to 57 from 84 this week, the biggest jump in 4A Foothills. The Colts were able to make move up by beating Pueblo East 21-7.
Widefield fell to Ponderosa 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Quincy Kindred provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Pueblo Centennial topped Kennedy. He completed 2 passes for 53 yards and also ran for 183 yards.
Nathan Resty was the best receiver in the league this week as Cheyenne Mountain lost to Vista Ridge. Resty tallied 5 receptions for 79 yards. Keegan Moore helped Cheyenne Mountain's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 21 yards.
Kindred was the most successful running back in the league this week. Caleb Miranda also contributed to the rushing game with 104 yards on the ground.
TJ Bisgrove put up the best numbers in passing as Mesa Ridge topped Air Academy. He finished with 8 completions for 87 yards. Bisgrove's favorite target this week was Kameron Harrod, who caught 3 passes for 47 yards.
Canon City's Logan Nethercot and Logun Javernick have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 4A Foothills in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Nethercot has thrown for 385 yards this season, while Javernick has 11 catches for 200 yards. Kindred from the Bulldogs leads the league in rushing with 654 yards.
At the moment, the Indians are in sixth, while Pueblo Centennial is in first.
Pueblo South made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,215 from 5,598. The improvement came about via a 21-7 victory over the Eagles last week.
