The Hortonville Polar Bears pushed their score all the way to 61 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The match between Hortonville and Fond du Lac wasn't particularly close, with Hortonville falling 77-61. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hortonville has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Hortonville still got an impressive performance from Riley Mueller, who scored 25 points along with three steals. The matchup was Mueller's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Joling, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds.
Hortonville's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Fond du Lac, their win bumped their record up to 1-3.
Hortonville will be home for the holidays to greet Kaukauna at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Kaukauna presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hortonville in Wisconsin (Kaukauna is ranked 37th, while Hortonville is ranked 178th). As for Fond du Lac, they will head out on the road to face off against Appleton West at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Appleton West is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
