The Wakefield Warriors lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Wednesday was a bit more commanding. They took a serious blow against Langley, falling 66-39. Wakefield has not had much luck with Langley recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Langley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anya Rahman, who scored 20 points. Rahman has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bri Borcherding, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Wakefield's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Langley, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-1.
Wakefield will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Langley at 7:30 p.m. Langley is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for they, they will challenge Wakefield at 7:30 p.m. Wakefield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Langley is ranked 19th).
