Basketball Recap: Asheboro Hybrid Academy Piles Up the Points Against Cornerstone Christian Academy

On Monday, the Asheboro Hybrid Academy Warriors blew past the Cornerstone Christian Academy Crusaders, posting a 63-29 win. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 30 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Levi Gaskins, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 19 rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Justin Kearns, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Konner Sherman, who put up 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Farthing, who earned nine points and five rebounds.

Asheboro Hybrid Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Asheboro Hybrid Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 65-27 victory against Faith Christian Academy on the 10th. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, they will challenge Sheets Memorial Christian at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday.
