Eastern Alamance took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Roxboro Community Bulldogs, sneaking past 5-3. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 6-5 loss the last time these two teams met.
Delani Straughan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Olivia Foster was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Brylea Warren, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
