Regis Jesuit has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Highlands Ranch Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Regis Jesuit's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matchups.
Last Tuesday, Regis Jesuit faced the Huskies in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Regis Jesuit skirted past the Huskies 66-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Lucas Dickinson, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Damarius Taylor was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Meanwhile, Highlands Ranch pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Castle View by a score of 59-56. Highlands Ranch has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Payton TerEick, who scored 11 points along with two steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of George West III, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Regis Jesuit's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Highlands Ranch, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.
Regis Jesuit skirted past the Falcons 65-62 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Regis Jesuit since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
