The Tomah Timberwolves lost against the Holmen Vikings back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Tomah received a tough blow as they fell 67-49 to Holmen. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tomah in their matchups with Holmen: they've now lost three in a row.
Holmen found their leader in underclassman Alex Berget, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kaiden Wilber, who scored 14 points.
Tomah bumped their record down to 2-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points per game. As for Holmen, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tomah will square off against La Crosse Logan at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wisconsin (La Crosse Logan is ranked 375th, while Tomah is ranked 393rd). As for Holmen, they will head out on the road to face off against La Crosse Central at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
