Eagle Valley extended their winning streak to three on Saturday, bumping them up to 7-2. They beat the Rifle Bears by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-6. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Devils also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2025.
Landon Metz made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Metz was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Xander DeHerrera, who went 3-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Colter Blakey was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Eagle Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.
As for Rifle, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since March 22, 2025.
On Rifle's side, Remington Decrow led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Blake Rider, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Eagle Valley beat Rifle by a score of 20-12 later that day.
