Jefferson is on a seven-game streak of home losses, Middleton a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Both teams will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around on Friday.
Jefferson suffered their biggest loss since December 5, 2023 on Wednesday. They were outmatched by Gaither at home and fell 63-28.
Meanwhile, Middleton suffered a rough 71-50 defeat at the hands of Armwood on Wednesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Middleton in their matchups with Armwood: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Middleton saw an underclassman step up: Ayanna Blake scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Blake has scored all season. Anaja Griffin was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Middleton, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
Jefferson might still be hurting after the 38-18 loss they got from Middleton in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Will Jefferson have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
