Olympia had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged out PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central/Greenview 38-36. The Spartans haven't had any issues with PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central/Greenview recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Leading Olympia to victory were Jimmy Lollar and Brendon Hardimon. Lollar rushed for 134 yards, while Hardimon rushed for 95 yards on only six carries. Hardimon got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 78 yards.
Olympia didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Hardimon and Ty Olson.
Despite the loss, PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central/Greenview still got an impressive performance from Drew Carter, who rushed for 105 yards and one TD on only eight carries.
