Thornton extended the longest winning streak in Southwest Suburban - Red this week by beating Thornwood, 33-0. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Lincoln-Way North's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ryan Arthur threw for 68 and one touchdown and Conor McDonald had 39 yards receiving. On the ground Tyler Gaynor chipped in 134 yards. Mike Irace helped Lincoln-Way North's passing attack out by catching two balls for 20 yards.
Bill Beemsterboer made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Phoenix defeated Thornridge. The 6-foot-1 senior recorded one fumble and grabbed 1.0 sack.
Lincoln-Way North's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Phoenix feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Arthur has thrown for 823 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while McDonald has 24 catches for 261 yards. Julian Hylton leads the league in rushing with 836 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Lincoln-Way North takes on the Thunderbolts. George Czart's team's offense has scored 271 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Andrew has allowed only 101 on the year.
Bradley-Bourbonnais moved up to 95 from 133 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Southwest Suburban - Red.
