Softball Recap: Waverly Drops Highest Score of Season Against Southeastern

Waverly scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Southeastern Panthers by a score of 12-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Tigers have suffered since March 27, 2024.

Ava Robertson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Addi Hudnell was another key player, going 1-for-5 with three RBI and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Waverly and nudges their season record down to 1-5. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Southeastern, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waverly will head out to challenge South Webster at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be the Tigers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Southeastern, they will head out on the road to take on Amanda-Clearcreek at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
