The Irvin Rockets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Mountain View 51-8. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Irvin has scored all season.
Jisell Huizar continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mountain View, scoring 23 points along with four steals. The game was Huizar's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ximena Robles, who scored 13 points.
Irvin has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Mountain View, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 14-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Irvin will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Harmony Science Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Mountain View will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Riverside at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
