The Boyd Broncos''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 42-24 to Braswell. While losing is never fun, Boyd can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 447th, while Braswell is ranked 111th).
Orion Vaughn threw for 136 yards and a touchdown. Benjamin Podor was his top target, picking up 118 receiving yards.
Braswell was led to victory by Jeremiah Shipp and Moses Adelowo. Shipp rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry, while Adelowo rushed for 240 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per carry. Shipp's longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards. Kahlil Davis made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Boyd's defeat was their third straight on the road , which bumped their record down to 1-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.3 points per game. As for Braswell, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.
Boyd does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Braswell also has no future games currently scheduled.
