The Soda Springs Cardinals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 45-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hurricane. Soda Springs was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hurricane apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Hurricane's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addison Crandall led the charge by scoring 20 points along with 8 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Crandall has scored at least 25% of Hurricane's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbigail Stout, who scored 9 points along with 3 steals.
Soda Springs has fallen quite a ways from their 22-5 record last season and are now at 1-5. As for Hurricane, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Soda Springs' road trip will continue as they head out to face Richfield at 9:30 a.m. on December 2nd. As for Hurricane, they will square off against Olympus at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Olympus focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
