After soaring to 55 points the game before, the New York School for the Deaf Golden Tornadoes were a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 51-17 loss at the hands of Mamaroneck. New York School for the Deaf was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-6.
Several Golden Tornadoes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jireth Duque-Vasquez, who scored two points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Mia Garcia was another key contributor, scoring six points.
New York School for the Deaf's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7. As for Mamaroneck, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-6.
New York School for the Deaf does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mamaroneck, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against New Rochelle at 5:00 p.m. on February 8th. Mamaroneck is coming into the contest with three straight wins on the road, meaning New Rochelle will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
