The St. Patrick Fighting Irish's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Laurel on the road and fell 55-13. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points St. Patrick has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Laurel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marissa Ulmer, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Ulmer is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Kayllis Walker was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
St. Patrick's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-4. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.0 points per game. As for Laurel, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
St. Patrick will head out on the road to face off against Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bay's defense has only allowed 28.8 points per game this season, so St. Patrick's offense will have their work cut out for St. Patrick. Laurel will be home for the holidays to greet Gautier at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Gautier will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while Laurel is ranked 31st).
