This season hasn't been kind to the Hannah-Pamplico Raiders, who are still winless after their 11th game. They were dealt a 55-22 loss at the hands of Christian Academy on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Hannah-Pamplico can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while Christian Academy is ranked 67th).
Christian Academy had a senior duo take command as Grace Owens dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds and Carly Belle Jackson dropped a double-double on ten rebounds and ten steals. Jackson is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Olivia Hodo was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Hannah-Pamplico bumped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.0 points per game. As for Christian Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
Coincidentally, Hannah-Pamplico and Christian Academy will both be playing Johnson County the next time they take the court. Christian Academy will head out to face Johnson County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Hannah-Pamplico will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
