Leading Mishawaka Marian to victory were Zion Rhoades and William Owens. Rhoades scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Owens scored 16 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Paxan Sullivan, who scored 11 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
South Bend Clay's loss came despite strong showings from Tyrese Jones and Brad Hicks. Jones scored nine points along with five assists and four blocks, while Hicks scored ten points along with five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Jones posted two or more blocks. Ryan Harris was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Mishawaka Marian's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for South Bend Clay, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
Mishawaka Marian will head out on the road to challenge Culver Academies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Bend Clay, they will be playing at home against South Bend Riley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
