After a string of three wins, Central's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the El Capitan Vaqueros. The Spartans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Vaqueros from their previous meeting back in November of 2015.

Brianna Aguiar paced Central's offense, picking up nine kills. Aguiar were helped by Rhyanna Velazco and Maryanne Barrett, who contributed eight assists each. Emma Vogel controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for El Capitan, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-4.

Central has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Del Lago Academy on the 6th. As for El Capitan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Escondido on the 6th.
