The Van Horn Eagles posted their biggest win since December 7, 2023 on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 58-11 victory over Sierra Blanca at home. With Van Horn ahead 33-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Among those leading the charge was Joey Anchondo, who scored 16 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Pablo Mendez, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Van Horn has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. As for Sierra Blanca, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Dell City the next time they take the court. Van Horn will host Dell City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Sierra Blanca will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
