Duncanville is a perfect 3-0 against Mesquite since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Panthers and Pantherettes will head out on the road to challenge the Skeeters at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Duncanville has four straight victories, Mesquite has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Thursday, Duncanville really took it to Horn for the full four quarters, racking up a 40-13 win. The Panthers and Pantherettes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 20 points or more this season.

Duncanville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Maximus The Great Denson out in front who rushed for 51 yards and one score on only five carries, and also threw for 60 yards and one touchdown. The Panthers and Pantherettes also got a significant boost from Robert Singleton, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 138 yards.
Another reason for the win was Duncanville's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 3.5 sacks. Jakhori Johnson refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Duncanville received some extra help from Landon Barnes, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, Mesquite was beaten by Lancaster 64-20 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Skeeters can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 427th, while the Tigers are ranked 57th).
Duncanville will have to keep a close watch on Jaiden Clayton and Krisshaun Waters, a pair of players who had a big impact on Mesquite's prior game. Clayton threw for 151 yards and one TD, while Waters picked up 61 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Mesquite's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Duncanville, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Friday's game might be decided in the trenches. Duncanville has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 149 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Mesquite, though, as they've been averaging only 78.5 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Everything came up roses for Duncanville against Mesquite when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 50-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers and Pantherettes since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
