The Mount Tabor Spartans will face off against the Oak Grove Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount Tabor will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
Mount Tabor is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 47-6 victory over North Forsyth. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won nine in a row.
Mount Tabor's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kingston Brown led the charge by throwing for 212 yards and one touchdown on only 18 passes, while also punching in a pair of scores on the ground. Another receiver making a difference was Jayden Muhfooth Smith, who gained 129 total yards and a touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mount Tabor was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 222 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 68.2 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five games they've averaged 239.3.

Another reason for the win was Mount Tabor's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Taryton Thacker was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. He is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last five games he's played.
Meanwhile, Oak Grove won against North Forsyth last Friday with 49 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Grizzlies blew past Atkins, posting a 49-0 victory. The Grizzlies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 37 points or more this season.
A big part of Oak Grove's win came down to the chemistry between Grayson Treadway and his top target Amir Dalton. Treadway threw for 98 yards and three TDs on perfect 6-for-6 passing while Dalton rushed for 92 yards and one touchdown. Treadway is becoming a predictor of Oak Grove's success: when he posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't).
Oak Grove didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jyden Barnes, Lathan Pruitt, and Bradley Byrd picked up one apiece. Pruitt got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Mount Tabor's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Oak Grove, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
