Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carolina Friends). They walked away with a 51-42 win over the Emerson Waldorf Gnomes on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Quakers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Emerson Waldorf's loss came despite strong showings from Samuel Trueblood and Lawson Mentz. Trueblood posted 16 points, while Mentz earned 12 points. Trueblood's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Raul Alberto Soberon, who had five points.

Carolina Friends' win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5. As for Emerson Waldorf, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Carolina Friends wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-37 loss against Thales Academy Apex on the 13th. As for Emerson Waldorf, they will host Bradford Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Emerson Waldorf is facing Bradford Academy at the right time seeing as Bradford Academy is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
