Meanwhile, Corinth was able to grind out a solid  victory over Alcorn Central on Friday, taking the game  5-1.
  Kinley Pittman made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Pittman was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances with one  home run, three  runs,  and three  RBI.
 Hernando's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Corinth,  the  victory  got them back to even at 1-1.
