Delta Valley recap September 10, 2013
Tommy Arnold and Noah Letuligasenoa Ta'amu provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Foothill. The connection went for 83 yards, the longest such play in Delta Valley this season.
Julius Fullah of Elk Grove ran for the longest rushing play in the league this season against the Cougars last week. Fullah's team defeated Foothill as he sprinted for 70 yards on the play and finished with 65 in all.
Lamar Jackson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Franklin beat Tracy. He completed 10 passes for 224 yards and 3 touchdowns and also ran for 69 yards. Jackson's favorite target this week was Jabarri Johnson, who caught 4 passes for 118 yards.
Arnold put up the best numbers in passing as Elk Grove beat Joey Brown's team. He finished with a total of 7 completions for 252 yards and 3 touchdowns.
BEN HARTMAN was a key player and the best on defense this week as Laguna Creek beat Florin. The 5-foot-11 senior grabbed 3.0 sacks.
Johnson was the best wideout in the league this week as the Wildcats defeated the Bulldogs. Bryce Abshear helped Franklin's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 52 yards.
RUSSELL WILLIAMS JR. was the most successful running back in Delta Valley this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 168 yards as the Cardinals defeated Tracy. Teammate JACOBI KELLY added to the ground attack by rushing for 82 yards.
Monterey Trail moved up to 261 from 374 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Mustangs were able to make move up by besting Antelope 32-21.
