Overton is a perfect 4-0 against Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Overton Bobcats will be taking part in a tournament against the Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet Royals at 5:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Overton's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet has been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

Overton saw some tournament action on Monday. They came out on top against East Nashville Magnet by a score of 9-5. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Liam DeLozier spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Overton's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Will Livingston, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Miller Bowen also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet came up short against East Nashville Magnet on Monday and fell 8-3.

Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Overton, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Overton took their victory against Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0. Will Overton repeat their success, or does Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
