The Freeman Mavericks will challenge the J.R. Tucker Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Freeman is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Freeman needed a bit of extra time to put away Hermitage. They had just enough and edged out the Panthers 9-8. The victory continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won five in a row.

Ryleigh Perks was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Oakley Cotropia, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Freeman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, J.R. Tucker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 11-0 to Patrick Henry. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Tigers haven't been shut out since back in March.

J.R. Tucker's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Freeman, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

J.R. Tucker's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Freeman hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. It's a different story for J.R. Tucker, though, as they've only averaged .204. Will they be able to contain Freeman's hitters?

Everything went Freeman's way against J.R. Tucker in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Freeman made off with a 13-1 victory. Do the Mavericks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
