Heritage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Independence Knights. Brady Jacobson put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Jacobson wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bubba Hancock, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was Hancock's first of the season.
Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11-1. As for Independence, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-5.
