The Cornerstone Charter Cardinals's 15-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell just short of River Mill by a score of 48-45. Cornerstone Charter has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Cornerstone Charter lost on Wednesday, one person who can't be blamed is D'Trevion Harris. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. Harris scored a full 42.2% of Cornerstone Charter's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Tristan Cole was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Cornerstone Charter struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as River Mill racked up nine.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead River Mill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anthony Brown, who scored 14 points along with 3 steals. The match was Brown's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Will Jones, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds.
Cornerstone Charter's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for River Mill, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-4.

Cornerstone Charter and Piedmont Classical will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
