Basketball Recap: Gatlinburg-Pittman's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Gatlinburg-Pittman has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 48-41 to the Eagleton College & Career Academy Royals on Friday. The contest marked the Highlanders' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Despite the loss, Gatlinburg-Pittman still got an impressive performance from Ty Glasper, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards. What's more, Glasper also racked up six steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Quinn Coykendall, who posted five points and four steals.

Gatlinburg-Pittman's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-3. As for Eagleton College & Career Academy, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gatlinburg-Pittman will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pigeon Forge at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Eagleton College & Career Academy also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Sequoyah at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
