The Mead Mavericks will venture away from home to take on the Centaurus Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games Mead has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Mead turned things around against Horizon on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Hawks 5-4.

Isaac Lockwood tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ryan St. Aubin, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Colin Haley was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Centaurus made easy work of Longmont on Tuesday and carried off a 7-1 victory. With that win, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.
Centaurus also got a great performance from Liam Sweeney as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Sweeney also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Warriors are 5-2 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-8 otherwise.
At the plate, Ari Schoenwald-Reed was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Centaurus: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-8 otherwise. Logan Ukleja also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Mead's record now sits at 11-6. As for Centaurus, their record is now 7-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mead has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Centaurus struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Mead was able to grind out a solid victory over Centaurus in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, winning 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mavericks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
