The Ste. Genevieve Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 50-39 to Farmington. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ste. Genevieve in their matchups with the Knights: they've now lost four in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Ste. Genevieve lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chloe Staffen. Despite the final result, she scored 25 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Staffen has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bri Abt, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Ste. Genevieve's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-8. As for Farmington, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ste. Genevieve and the Raiders will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Farmington, they will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
