Despite the defeat, Beach had strong showings from Mariah Reid, who scored 22 points, and Heaven Walker, who scored six points. That was a full 52.4% of Beach's points, marking the 18th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Beach's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Johnson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beach won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Groves at 5:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Beach is facing Groves at the right time seeing as Groves is stuck on a 21-game losing streak. As for Johnson, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Long County at 3:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Long County is coming into the match with six straight defeats at home, meaning Johnson will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
