If the Perspectives Leadership/Technology Warriors were riding high off their 66-46 takedown of the Brooks Eagles last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Perspectives Leadership/Technology took a hard 71-55 fall against Phillips on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Perspectives Leadership/Technology lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kenric Mosby, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mosby has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tim Handy, who scored 11 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Leading Phillips to victory were Amari Edwards and Lawrence Horton. Edwards scored 23 points along with six steals, while Horton scored 28 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Edwards has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Michael White, Jr was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight assists and five steals.
Perspectives Leadership/Technology's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7. As for Phillips, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Perspectives Leadership/Technology will head out on the road to challenge Hyde Park at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hyde Park will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Phillips will take on Francis W. Parker at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Francis W. Parker will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 618th, while Phillips is ranked 99th).
