The Fort Calhoun Pioneers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 77-49 victory over Concordia at home. Fort Calhoun has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Calhoun to victory, but perhaps none more so than Raeann Massey, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Massey is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ansley Elofson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
The win was the fourth in a row for Fort Calhoun, bringing their record for this year to 10-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Concordia, they bumped their record down to 2-10 with that loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Calhoun will take on Mead at TBD on Thursday. Mead is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Concordia, they will be playing at home against Lincoln Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lincoln Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Concordia in Nebraska (Lincoln Christian is ranked third, while Concordia is ranked 212th).
