Softball Recap: Burbank Wins Going Away Against Brackenridge

Burbank got themselves on the board against Brackenridge on Friday, but Brackenridge never followed suit. They were the clear victor by a 15-0 margin over the Brackenridge Eagles. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by eight runs or more this season.

Evelyn Lopez made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, three RBI, and one run. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Burbank got a massive performance out of Giselle Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jalyn Ortiz, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3.

Burbank was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in ten consecutive games.

Burbank's record now sits at 9-2. As for Brackenridge, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Burbank didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-1 victory against Edison on the 10th. Brackenridge has also already played their next match (against Seguin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
