After a string of seven wins, the South Pasadena Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 65-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Arcadia. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
South Pasadena's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Derek Peterson, who scored 29 points. Peterson hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Jack Madison, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Arcadia was led to victory by Mansour Senneh and Jordan Dollar. Senneh scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, while Dollar scored 16 points along with two steals. Noa Eteuati-Edwards was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
South Pasadena's loss dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Arcadia, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Pasadena will take on La Canada at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in La Canada's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matches. As for Arcadia, Arcadia and Glendale will face off at 5:15 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Glendale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 370th, while Arcadia is ranked 159th).
