The biggest upset of the week belonged to W.S. Neal, who took down 112th ranked W.S. Neal, 14-0.
Opp moved up to 148 from 177 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A Region 1. The Bobcats were able to make move up by defeating the Eagles 14-0.
James Hudson and Dekota Welker gave Excel a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Hudson threw for 85 yards and two touchdowns, while Welker ran for 124 yards. Tae Parker also contributed to the rushing game with 73 yards on the ground.
Thanks to the talents of Hudson and Welker the Panthers have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Hudson leads the league in passing with 455 yards, while Welker has rushed for 743 yards this season. Opp's Justin Adkins leads the league in receiving yards with 225 on eight catches.
There should be lots of points scored when Jack Whigham's team and Straughn face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Bobcats comes in having scored 175 this season, while the Tigers have scored 228. Opp scored 14 points last week as it topped W.S. Neal.
T.R. Miller extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Straughn, 19-17. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
