Volleyball Recap: West Jordan Has No Trouble Against Vanguard Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Herriman, West Jordan was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Vanguard Academy Knights 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-9, 25-14.

West Jordan can attribute much of their success to Marshall Handy, who had six digs and three aces. That's the most aces Handy has posted over his last five matches.

Handy wasn't the only good server: West Jordan was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

West Jordan's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Vanguard Academy, they dropped their record down to 8-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, West Jordan will host Kearns at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jaguars are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Vanguard Academy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Salt Lake Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
