The Las Plumas Thunderbirds will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Marysville Indians at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Las Plumas will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Las Plumas is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Inderkum 14-3 on Saturday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Thunderbirds with their most commanding win of the season.
Kendal Headley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Headley was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Hobbs also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Presley Carlson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4.
Las Plumas kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Marysville was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They lost 12-2 to Colusa.
Deanna Goode made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-1. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
Las Plumas' win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Marysville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Las Plumas hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. However, it's not like Marysville struggles in that department as they've averaged .336. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
