Frostproof has gone 8-2 against Lake Placid recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Frostproof Bulldogs will host the Lake Placid Dragons at 7:30 p.m. Frostproof has given up an average of 7.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Frostproof lost 12-3 to Sebring on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Blue Streaks: they've now lost five in a row.
Jordan Brantley put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ella Leppert was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. Leppert is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's stole at least one every time she's taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Lake Placid hadn't done well against LaBelle recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Lake Placid was the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over LaBelle. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won three games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Like Frostproof, Lake Placid also got a great game from a two-way player: Jillian Garduno. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Garduno was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Natalie Velozo was a standout: she scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kayla Oliveros, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Lake Placid always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as LaBelle only posted an OBP of .364.
Frostproof's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Lake Placid, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Frostproof has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Lake Placid struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
